When Johnson Lawn Solutions first evaluated this retaining wall project in Hudson, WI, we found an aging wall that had begun to fail and lean outward, creating an unsafe and unstable area on the property. After a full site assessment, our team carefully removed the deteriorating structure and prepared a new engineered base to support a long-lasting retaining wall installation. During construction, we installed geogrid reinforcement fabric between the fourth and fifth block courses, a critical structural component that stabilizes the soil and allows the retaining wall to safely exceed five feet in height while meeting proper construction standards. Our crew completed the retaining wall installation from start to finish in just one week, ensuring proper drainage, compaction, and alignment throughout the build. To restore the surrounding landscape, we added 22,000 pounds of high-quality black soil, carefully graded the area for optimal drainage, and seeded the site with the customer’s selected grass blend. The project was finalized with a protective straw covering to promote healthy germination and erosion control, resulting in a safe, durable retaining wall and a fully restored landscape that enhances both the appearance and functionality of the property
